BULLETIN BOARD

BLUE BAG LIBRARY DAYS 2016  Between now and the end of April, we have scheduled more than 50 class field trips to local libraries. Children will learn all about the library, hear a story, and then receive a new, blue, Raising A Reader book bag they can keep forever. They also receive their first library card and will check out their first books. These events encourage families to build a lifelong relationship with their library, and they signal the transition from a RED book bag received weekly through classrooms, to a BLUE book bag they’ll now use at their library. Please feel free to join us: BLUE BAG LIBRARY DAYS. Excitement is guaranteed! Thank you to our teachers and all the librarians at all six Garfield County Library locations, Basalt Regional Library and Pitkin County Library.

RED BAGS ARRIVING IN OCTOBER 2015  Raising A Reader red bags are on their way in the month of October.  We are excited for kids to discover the wonderful books that wait inside.  Over the next several months as the bags travel back and forth with 4 new books each time, an opportunity emerges for parents (grandparents, siblings or anyone who can read!) to engage in a reading adventure with a curious child.  Take advantage of the chance to foster a love of reading.  Check out our Parent Resources page for ideas on how to connect.  Happy reading!
