Suzanne Wheeler-Del Piccolo
Executive Director
Suzanne Wheeler-Del Piccolo is the new executive director of Raising A Reader Aspen to Parachute. She is excited about leading and empowering the Raising A Reader team and board of directors to provide programs that foster a love of books and early literacy skills for children and families from Aspen to Parachute.
As principal of Basalt Elementary School for 22 years, Suzanne led the Roaring Fork School District’s first dual language school. She is both a master teacher and experienced administrator. Suzanne supported the implementation of Raising A Reader for Basalt Elementary preschool and kindergarten students and their families since RAR’s inception 17 years ago.
Suzanne loves challenging herself physically by skiing, biking, and hiking in the Roaring Fork Valley. She finds rejuvenation in reading, gardening, and traveling, especially to San Francisco to see her mom. Suzanne continues to be inspired by her husband and four adult children; her large extended family; and her dear, close friends.
