Raising a Reader Programs

They are more than just books and stories.

These programs provide a transformative journey for children aged 0 to 5 and their families. Studies show that books and read-aloud time enhance language development, foster creativity, and build strong family bonds. An investment in Raising A Reader is an investment in the unlimited potential of every child in our region.

Success begins at home with a child, a parent, and a book.

Raising a Reader Aspen to Parachute is an early literacy family engagement organization working to close the learning gap for all children in our region through innovative 2Gen programs.

Our Vision

Roaring Fork Valley Early Learning Fund engages children from birth to age five in a routine of daily book sharing with their parents to foster healthy brain development, parent-child bonding, and early literacy skills critical for school and life success. Our vision is that every child from Aspen to Parachute will enter kindergarten prepared for reading success, in love with books and excited about learning.

Our Programs

Early Literacy Success
Our programs equip parents with the knowledge and resources necessary to provide a home environment rich in oral language engagement, where families bond through stories and learning, and books are treasured.
